WE HAVE A NEW SERVER! As of today we have a new 1.8 server with a new IP address. The old servers will be shutdown in the next few days, but we hope you will come join us on the all new improved server! Please contact MrMalm in person or through email ts@elisabethmorrow.org to get the new IP address and be added to the new server's approved list.
When the 1.8 update comes out in the near future THERE WILL BE MAJOR CHANGES! Most of our server mods will probably be broken for awhile and the basic Minecraft gameplay will probably change so drastically that WE MAY BE DELETING THE ENTIRE WORLD AND STARTING FROM SCRATCH! Nobody knows when the 1.8 update will happen (maybe weeks, maybe months), but be prepared to start punching trees for wood again and rebuilding a whole new world. I will save a backup of the world before we begin a new one and will make it available to download, which means you can load it into a single player game (minus the mods & mod content like NPCs) and blow everything up with TnT if you want.
August 23rd 2011 - Create your own NPCs! Non Player Characters can now populate our world. Find out how to make them at the Citizens Wiki or watch this youtube video which taught me why the NPCs wouldn't talk when I clicked on them. August 22nd 2011 - You can now write colored text on signs because of this newly installed mod. You just put a # and the letter/number of the color code before the text on a sign. Here is a list of the color codes: #0 Black, #1 Navy, #2 Green, #3 Blue, #4 Red, #5 Purple, #6 Gold, #7 LightGray, #8 Gray, #9 DarkPurple, #a LightGreen, #b LightBlue, #c Rose, #d LightPurple, #e Yellow, #f White.
August 22nd 2011 - Sorry, but Herobrine on our server was a fake Herobrine. I uploaded a mod that ended up being really annoying because he came and killed you every two minutes. I have disabled the mod because it was FRUSTRATING TO DIE CONSTANTLY FOR NO REASON!
July 21st 2011 - The new EMS Summer Explorations server is well underway and has started several new wiki pages including: Citizen Bios, Crafting Help, General Tips, General Help, and Related Links. Expect much more content to come from the Explorations summer program!
May 18th 2011 - Students are working on a project to be entered into a machinima competition.
May 16th 2001 - Knowclue's thoughts on things that go bump in the virtual night.
May 9th 2011 - Check out some of what happened during our first week on the server.
5/31/2011 - There have been a lot of problems caused by the update to 1.6. Expect them to continue for a few more days. Hopefully everything will be back to normal before Friday.
5/24/2011- New mod: MultiHome. MultiHome allows everyone to set several different named home locations. Very useful for quickly teleporting to different places in world. Usage: /home - Teleport to your default home location. /home <name> - Teleport to a named home location. /sethome - Set your default home location. /sethome <name> - Set a named home location. /deletehome <name> - Delete named home location. /listhomes - List home locations you have set. I'm not sure how this mod will affect sleeping in beds! Let MrMalm know of any problems this mod causes.
Update: It works! Do not portal grief, whatever that means, but I'm sure someone will find a way. Portals are destroyed when you log out! Use MultiHome for permanent waypoints.
5/23/2011 - A Magic Carpet mod has been installed and is now available for all players. Basically, after turning the carpet on with /mc a 3x3 block of glass will appear beneath you when you step off a ledge, preventing falling and helping people make tricky builds. Do not start placing random blocks in the sky for no reason! I will disable magic carpets if I start seeing garbage in the sky!! Press shift to descend. Turn off the carpet by typing /mc again. Enjoy!
Also the /back command can now be used if you die. It will return you to where you died and you can pick up all your precious inventory. It has other uses too.
5/22/2011 - Bedrock can no longer be placed because it was used for griefing this weekend. Turning TNT back on was postponed because of this incident as well. :)
Old Stuff - In case you don't know or are coming back from a ban, there are several new rules and commands available to all players. The most important rule is: Do not build on top of, or mess with other peoples stuff! Move out and find some place new to build a house or whatever on the map. The map is huge and you can find plenty of open space to setup shop. Building too close to other people's space without their permission will probably get you banned for awhile. As for new commands: The best one is the /giveme command which allows anybody to spawn blocks and items at will. There are a few different ways to use it. You can type /lookup <search term> to get a list of available items. e.g. "/lookup diamond" will return a list of diamond items and the item numbers. example: Diamond pick - 278, Diamond axe - 279. Then you can use /giveme 278 <amount> to give yourself the item, e.g. "/giveme 278 64" will give you 64 diamond picks. If you know the exact name of the item you want you can type it and the amount instead of the item number, e.g. "/giveme bed 1". Place a bed in your house and sleep in it to set your home. Use the command /home to return to the last bed you slept in. If you have questions, ask someone in game or MrMalm.
October 12th 2011 - So much has been going on with Morrowcraft. We need to start up dating the wiki more often.
August 25th 2011 - Here is a nice blog post about environmental responsibility in Minecraft. Let's keep our virtual worlds looking beautiful!
